We’re excited to share a look back at our very first Dark Room Socials workshop, hosted by Max Elliot, Diana Olifirova, and Ravi Chandarana at Ravi’s studio in Kennington.
The session focused on the fundamentals of studio lighting, using both flash and continuous light. Participants were invited to draw inspiration from legendary photographers including Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Yousuf Karsh, Brian Griffin, and Nadav Kander, and tasked with recreating their iconic styles through lighting and composition.
The goal? To get as close as possible to these references, sharpening our skills and deepening our understanding of light and form.
